Plants reach 6 to 10 inches tall and 12 to 15 inches wide. Herbaceous, stoloniferous, mat-forming perennial groundcover.
Low-growing perennial has heart-shaped, green leaves with scalloped edge margins. Hooded, two-lipped, lavender blue flowers bloom in mid to late spring.
Meehan's mint performs best in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soil. In northern zones, it tolerates full sun if soil kept moist. Native woodland plant to western Pennsylvania to North Carolina, Tennessee and Illinois. |
