Rooting where leaf nodes come in contact with the soil, 'Aurea' is easily grown in average, medium to wet, well-drained soil. Intolerant of dry soils, it can sometimes be invasive, but will tolerate moderate foot traffic.

Good plant for shady places, under trees or on a creek bank. Use for covering banks, as a border, around water gardens, between stepping stones, or in rustic containers, old stumps, and hanging baskets or walls for cascading effect.
