Mature foliage height 15 to 18 inches and width 18 to 24 inches, compact, herbaceous, taprooted perennial.
Leaves emerge edged in red and mature to form a bushy mound of solid green leaves. Flowers are a mix of white pink and red on wiry, erect, wand-like stems. 'Passionate Blush' has a long bloom period, spring to early autumn; take off spent flower spikes to increase blooms.
Gaura will grows best in sandy, loamy, well-drained soils, good drainage is essential. Plants may be cut back in late spring by 1/2 to control size. Gaura could self-seed if spent flower stems are not removed.
Attributes: Use as border plants, containers, for cut flowers, edging, and in mass plantings. Tolerates heat, humidity and some drought. Deer resistant. |
