Description
Campanula carpatica Clips Blue (30)ct Ellepots
Common Name: Bellflower-Carpathian, arpathian Harebell, tussock bellflower.
Zones 3 to 8.
Full Sun to Part Shade.
Plants reach 8 inches tall and 12 to 24 inches wide;
Low-growing clumps of basal foliage spread to form an attractive ground cover.
Growth rate: rapid, herbaceous perennial spreads by self-seeding and offsets.

A profusion of 2 to 3 inch wide, violet-blue, cup-shaped, upward-facing flowers gracefully cover the dark green foliage from late spring to late summer, if deadheaded regularly. Foliage is semi-evergreen to evergreen in warm winter climates.

This group of Campanula is easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil; but grows best in fertile soil with a neutral to alkaline pH. Keep the soil moist but make sure it is well-drained. Members of this group will grow in either full sun or partial shade, though some shade is recommended in areas with very hot summers, as it is generally intolerant of the extreme heat. The delicate flower colors are best preserved with some shade. Summer mulch is beneficial and shear plants back to basal growth if foliage is significantly affected by summer heat.

Cut plants back after flowering to keep them more compact and help prevent self-seeding. Propagate by seed or division.

Attributes: Border plants, Container, Rock Gardens, mass planting in lightly shaded woodland areas can be left alone to naturalize. Attracts hummingbirds. Deer resistant.

The Ellepot System is a method of growing in a peat media filled paper tube. Ellepots are environmentally friendly and decompose in the garden.

An Ellepot is a root permeable, biodegradable paper sleeve, instead of plastic. It is beneficial to plant development as root system does not spiral, and natural root development is encouraged.

Guidelines for Handling and Transplanting Elle Plugs

1) We strive to send every Elle plug with sufficient moisture to last through shipping. Upon delivery of your order, inspect all Elle plugs for soil moisture.
2) Water any plugs that appear to be dry immediately. If the Elle paper is dry, then the plug is drying out. All plugs arrive with the addition of a wetting agent to facilitate prompt, even water absorption.
3) If the Elle plugs are to be held for a period of time before transplanting, check the plugs regularly to ensure they are evenly moist. Do not let plugs dry out.
4) Just before transplanting, re-check moisture level of all plugs scheduled to be transplanted. Ensure that plugs are thoroughly moist.
