Description
Aruncus 'Misty Lace' PP15798 (20)ct Ellepots
Common Name: Goat's Beard;
Zones 3 to 7.
Full sun to full shade; prefers part shade in the southern zones.
Plants reach 18 to 24 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide;
moderate growth rate once established; herbaceous perennial.

In early summer, this compact variety of goat's beard produces large, creamy white, feathery plumes on dark red stems atop compact mounds of astilbe-like foliage. The effect is similar to that of a large astilbe and it can be used in a similar manner in the landscape. This is the best Goat's Beard for southern states (heat tolerant at least to zone 7, possibly warmer), but it is also very cold hardy to zone 3.

Goat's Beard grows best in moist to wet, organically rich soils. In northern climates, it can be grown in full sun if provided with adequate moisture. In southern zones, it prefers partial or full shade. Foliage decline can occur rapidly if soils are permitted to dry out. When grown in deep shade, plants tend to have a more open habit and bloom sparsely. No serious insect or disease problems. Some susceptibility to leaf spot.

Removing faded flower stalks will not prolong bloom, but may improve plant appearance, particularly if a ground cover look is desired. However, if left uncut dried seed plumes provide ornamental effect. Attributes: border plants, cut flowers or foliage, edging and plant in mass. Deer resistant.

The Ellepot System is a method of growing in a peat media filled paper tube. Ellepots are environmentally friendly and decompose in the garden.

An Ellepot is a root permeable, biodegradable paper sleeve, instead of plastic. It is beneficial to plant development as root system does not spiral, and natural root development is encouraged.

Guidelines for Handling and Transplanting Elle Plugs
1) We strive to send every Elle plug with sufficient moisture to last through shipping. Upon delivery of your order, inspect all Elle plugs for soil moisture.
2) Water any plugs that appear to be dry immediately. If the Elle paper is dry, then the plug is drying out. All plugs arrive with the addition of a wetting agent to facilitate prompt, even water absorption.
3) If the Elle plugs are to be held for a period of time before transplanting, check the plugs regularly to ensure they are evenly moist. Do not let plugs dry out.
4) Just before transplanting, re-check moisture level of all plugs scheduled to be transplanted. Ensure that plugs are thoroughly moist.
