Description
Armeria maritima 'Bloodstone' (30)ct Ellepots
Common name: Thrift-Common, Sea Pink, Sea Thrift.
Zones 3 to 8.
Full sun to part shade.
Plants reach 8 to 10 inches tall and 12 to 18 inches wide,
slow spreading, grassy evergreen mound.

Bright purplish-pink, ball-shaped flower clusters are produced on thin, leafless stalks held high above the dense mounds of evergreen, grass-like, dark green foliage. Blooms from mid-spring thru early summer. Deadhead spend flower stems to encourage additional bloom.

Easy to grow, Sea Thrift thrives in full sun and loamy or sandy soils that are well-drained, especially in the winter. Foliage and roots tend to rot if grown in moist, fertile soils or in heavy clay. Thrifts prefer cool temperatures and low humidity. Where summers are hot and humid, it should be grown in part shade.

Sea Pinks are found naturally along coastlines where few other plants can handle the high salt concentration. Inland, this attribute makes them useful for planting along sidewalks or driveways that are salted in winter. They are also good candidates for rock gardens, troughs, or between pavers.

Excellent as a border plant, in containers or for cut and dried flowers, in mass plantings, Drought and Salt Tolerant.

The Ellepot System is a method of growing in a peat media filled paper tube. Ellepots are environmentally friendly and decompose in the garden.

An Ellepot is a root permeable, biodegradable paper sleeve, instead of plastic. It is beneficial to plant development as root system does not spiral, and natural root development is encouraged.

Guidelines for Handling and Transplanting Elle Plugs
1) We strive to send every Elle plug with sufficient moisture to last through shipping. Upon delivery of your order, inspect all Elle plugs for soil moisture.
2) Water any plugs that appear to be dry immediately. If the Elle paper is dry, then the plug is drying out. All plugs arrive with the addition of a wetting agent to facilitate prompt, even water absorption.
3) If the Elle plugs are to be held for a period of time before transplanting, check the plugs regularly to ensure they are evenly moist. Do not let plugs dry out.
4) Just before transplanting, re-check moisture level of all plugs scheduled to be transplanted. Ensure that plugs are thoroughly moist.
